Service Information

A celebration of Phil's life Is planned for:

Saturday, September 28, 2019

3:30 p.m.- 5 p.m.

Durham County Human Services

There will be tented overflow seating outside with a 

livestream, and the service can be viewed

on this website. 

Phil’s wife of 40 years, Nnenna Freelon, and their three children welcome family, friends, colleagues, and community to join together and celebrate his life and legacy. 

 

Please join us for a memorial service honoring a renowned architect, photographer, fisherman, husband and father. The service will be held at Durham County Human Services, a building The Freelon Group designed.

Phil has asked that those who want to honor him become sustaining donors of NorthStar Church of the Arts, so that the creative and spiritual energies that nurtured him throughout his life may positively impact others.
